As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, on the evening of September 30, a Tajikistani international student named Fan Zhiyuan made a special appearance at a vibrant Tang-style Mid-Autumn market in the South Taihu Lake New Area of Huzhou. Strolling through the brilliantly lit market, he immersed himself in traditional handicrafts such as非遗漆扇 (lacquer fan making, an intangible cultural heritage) and paper-cutting. He also enthusiastically participated in ancient-style games like投壶 (arrow throwing),马球 (polo), and poetry dueling.
At the event, Fan Zhiyuan savored Chinese delicacies like mooncakes, pastries, and traditional tea drinks. He engaged in easy conversations and took photos with local visitors, radiating excitement throughout the experience. Showing a keen interest in Chinese culture, he expressed that this immersive Mid-Autumn market adventure allowed him to deeply appreciate the festive, harmonious atmosphere and unique charm of traditional Chinese holidays.
